A collection of 300 quilts honoring the victims of 9/11 will be on display at the Dover Middle School, Dover, Ohio. This project was originally a dream of Amy Leasure of Arizona. She collected over 20,000 quilt squares from all over the world to complete the 300 quilts and banners. Her goal was to honor each victim of 9/11 by having a star with each victims’ name placed in the quilts. Leasure passed away before she was able to complete this project. Beverly Kuemin, of Michigan took over this project and has made it her mission to take the quilts on tour to give others the opportunity to see them.
Her hopes are for the quilts to be on permanent display in a museum someday.
